Championship football returns this weekend following the international break and Sheffield Wednesday face a tough test as they travel to Burnley.
The international break has coincided with the close of the transfer window and the Owls could field some new faces as well as welcoming key players back from injury.
Goalkeeper Keiren Westwood and captain Glenn Loovens should be available for selections having recovered from injuries that have seen them miss recent matches. New signings Michael Turner, Daniel Pudil, Barry Bannan and Fernando Forestieri will all be keen to make their Wednesday debuts.
Burnley do not expect to be able to field experienced midfielder Joey Barton against the Owls as the new signing needs to work his way up to match fitness before being considered for first team action. Dean Marney and Kevin Long are also sidelined but former Sheffield United full-back Matt Lowton could make his Clarets debut.
The home side have 8 points from their 5 games so far with their only defeat coming away to Ipswich. The Clarets have won their last 2 matches.
After a positive start to the season the Owls haven’t won a league game since the opening day of the campaign and are yet to record an away victory.
The away side has generally had the better of this meeting in recent years as although the Owls have been defeated a few times at Hillsborough by Burnley recently they have not lost on their last 9 visit to Turf Moor, including a 1-0 win in the League Cup last season.
