Owls and Lions clash in search for first win

Sheffield Wednesday face Millwall at Hillsborough on Saturday with both teams yet to enjoy a league victory this season. In fact, from the six matches they have played between them they have only picked up a solitary point, which was acquired by the Owls in last weekends televised draw at Leeds United.

Wednesday will be eager to put the disappointment of the 2-1 defeat against Burnley in their first home match of the season behind them and build on last Saturday's point gained at Elland Road.

The Owls are still without Jamaican winger Jermaine Johnson as he serves the final game of his suspension and striker Gary Madine is also unavailable due to off field issues.

Lewis Buxton made a welcome return at right-back last week and after a substitute appearance Reda Johnson could return at left-back.

Millwall's slow start to the campaign has seen them fail to score in all three of their league games so far though they did register a 2-1 win over Wimbledon in the first round of the League Cup.

The Lions are without Eire international goalkeeper David Forde due to injury and so former Owls keeper Stephen Bywater is likely to face his former club. Ex-Wednesday defender Mark Beevers should also feature for the visitors.

Midfielder Liam Trotter, a scorer at Hillsborough last season, has returned to training but is not expected to be match fit in time to play on Saturday.

Wednesday will be looking to continue the form they showed against Millwall last season as they picked up 6 points against the South London side, winning 3-2 at Hillsborough and 2-1 in the capital.

Prior to last season Wednesday hadn't beaten the Lions in their previous 3 home clashes, losing 2 and drawing 1.
