Owls aiming to extend winning run

Sheffield Wednesday host HullCity in the Sky TV lunchtime kick-off tomorrow as Championship football returns following the international break.

Owls coach Carlos Carvalhal has a more or less fully fit squad to choose from and will be reluctant to make too many changes to a side in good form thought Lewis McGugan will be hopeful of playing a role having made an impact, scoring as a substitute in the 3-1 win against Preston last time out.

HullCity had a host of players away on international duty last week but manager Steve Bruce has reported that most have returned without any injury problems. The only doubt is over in-form striker Abel Hernandez who may not be 100% having only recently travelled back from South America. England under-21 striker Chuba Akpom could feature and will be in confident mood after scoring for the England under 21 side in midweek.

Wednesday have won 3 league games in succession and 4 in a row in all competitions but are yet to beat a side they have faced from the top half of the Championship. Hull, currently 5th in the league table, are unbeaten in 5 games and have only conceded 2 goals in those 5 matches.

The Tigers have only lost one of their last 5 games against the Owls at Hillsborough, winning 3 of these matches.
