Owls agree loan move

Chelseafc.com, the official website of Premier League club are today reporting that young prospect Jimmy Smith has signed for Sheffield Wednesday on loan.

wednesday-mad.co.uk highlighted the Owls interest in the player last week and the deal is said to be for six-months which will see the midfielder stay at Hillsborough at least until the end of the year.

The attacking midfielder is said to be held in high regard at Stamford Bridge and although he was hampered by injury during last season he was still given the Captaincy of a strong Blues reserve team.

Smith will be Wednesday's 2^nd midfield acquisition this summer following the capture of James O'Connor.

Staying with news from Chelsea, as was expected former Owls loan player Ben Sahar will get the chance to show his ability in the top flight this season as he has signed a loan deal with F.A. Cup holders Portsmouth.
