Sheffield Wednesday have strengthened their attacking options for a second time this week with the acquisition of Nigerian forward Daniel Uchechi.
The 21-year-old has represented his country at both under-20 and under-23 level and impressed Gary Megson in a recent trial at Hillsborough. He is descried as a player who possesses pace and ability and has been looked at by a number of English clubs previously.
Uchechi featured prominently for the Charlton Athletic under 18’s team before moving onto West Ham in 2009 before returning to his native Nigeria, signing for FC Dender. He spent time on loan at Leicester City last season but did not feature for the first team.
His loan spell from Dender will see him contracted to the Owls initially until January 2012 and he will wear the number 27 shirt. Uchechi is available to make his debut in tonight Carling Cup tie with Blackpool at Hillsborough.
