Midfielder could return next year
Sheffield Wednesday have revealed that midfielder Kieran Lee has had surgery on his knee earlier this month. The former Manchester United academy product had been out all year with a hip problem that required surgery but had hoped to return early this season and had returned to training a couple of month ago. However, he broke down early on in an Owls under 23 game and that has resulted in his latest operation.
Lee has been a major miss for the Owls as his clever movement and crisp passing provided a link between the midfield and attack that nobody else in the squad is able to produce to anywhere near the same standard.
Should all go well Lee could return to training in January but his is unlikely to see any first team action until February at the earliest.
