Sheffield Wednesday goalkeeper Keiren Westwood has been linked with a move to promotion rivals Middlesbrough, according to the Irish Independent newspaper.
The Republic of Ireland international has been widely recognised as one of the best goalkeepers outside the top flight and in previous summers he has been linked with moves to Premier League clubs.
Having been relegated last season, ‘Boro are the favourites to win the 2017/18 Championship and have significant funds to be able to bolster their chances thought the quoted £3M price tag is surely below the Owls valuation.
Having established himself as the Owls number 1, in a side that are expected to contend for promotion again, Westwood appears to be happy and settled in a close-knit squad at Hillsborough and Wednesday will be reluctant to sell one of their best players ahead of their 150th anniversary season.
