Reports in the Sheffield Star suggest that the club may be progressing talks to seal new financial backing. Club director and former Chairman Geoff Hulley told the paper "We are speaking, and it is getting quite advanced. But with anything like this, there has to be some secrecy. It is a sensitive issue."
Fans will be sceptical about how likely it is that any new investment agreement will be completed in the near future as the club has been reported to be in a similar advanced position on a number of occasions over the past year or so with nothing coming to fruition thus far.
The club have been without a full-time Chairman since the resignation of Dave Allen last month and despite constant from board members since then, there is a fear that the threat of administration may soon be hanging over the club if the situation is not resolved promptly.
