Sheffield Wednesday have followed up the recent capture of central defender Darren Purse by securing the services of former Ipswich Town attacking midfielder Tommy Miller.
The 30-year-old left Portman Road for the third time at the end of the season. Having initially been with the Suffolk club as a youngster he made his league debut for Hartlepool before returning to Ipswich for four years.
Miller went onto play for Sunderland in the Premier League but a disappointing campaign saw them relegated. When Roy Keane took over as boss of the Black Cats Miller was loaned out to Preston and then returned to Ipswich, making another 100+ appearances for them in this spell.
It was thought that Miller would once again be leaving Ipswich even before the recent appointment of Keane as manager there and the Owls have been rumoured to be interested in the player for some time.
Like Purse, Miller is to sign a two-year deal at Hillsborough and is another player who adds vast experience at this level.
The midfielder found the net 6 times in 30 starts during 2008/09 and was often played out of his preferred position. Brian Laws will be hoping that he can add goals and creativity in getting forward from his favoured central midfield role, something that the Owls lacked somewhat last season and with his height and aerial ability he can be a threat from set-pieces.
