Sheffield Wednesday have today confirmed that midfielder Kieran Lee has agreed to sign a new 2-year deal with the club.
Lee, who joined the Owls in 2012 saw his contract expire at the end of the 2014/15 season but he was one of a handful of out-of-contract players at S6 that the club entered into further negotiations with and head coach Stuart Gray will be delighted to have secured his services.
Having joined from Oldham where he made his name as a right-back, Lee had to bide his time before being given an opportunity by then manager Dave Jones. Since Gray took over a boss however, the 26-year-old ha blossomed as a midfield player – calm on the ball and with a good eye for a pass. After a slow start to last season which was affected by injuries Lee finished the season well and chipped in with 6 goals including the injury time winner against local rivals Rotherham.
