Sheffield Wednesday have been dealt a blow during the current international break by the news that experienced midfielder David Prutton has been ruled out of action for a period of between one and two months.
The former Southampton man sustained an ankle injury in training earlier in the week and could be sidelined until December at least.
The 32-year-old has featured prominently in the Owls side since forcing his way back into Dave Jones' plans around Christmas time last year. He had however recently lost his place in the starting 11 following the heavy defeat at Birmingham City with Stephen McPhail coming into the team alongside Giles Coke.
