Sheffield Wednesday continued their summer recruitment drive on Wednesday by confirming the addition of wide midfielder Marco Matias.
26-year-old Matias joins from Portuguese top flight club Nacional for an undisclosed fee though reports in Portugal suggest the figure may be in excess of £2M.
Matias came through the youth ranks at Sporting Lisbon but after failing to break into the Portuguese giants 1st team he made the switch to Vitoria Guimaraes where he made over 50 appearances.
The former Portugal under 21 international joined Nacional last summer and a productive season resulted in him scoring 20 goals in 36 appearances.
Matias has signed a 4-year contract at Hillsborough.
