Lunchtime Yorkshire derby at Hillsborough

Sheffield Wednesday host near neighbours Leeds United in a 12.30 kick-off at Hillsborough on Saturday.

Wednesday will be hoping the forwards Fernando Forestieri and Gary Hooper are passed fit to face their Yorkshire rivals. Forestieri has been influential for the Owls this season though he could have signed for Leeds prior to Wednesday's interest but the move fell flat. Hooper will be hoping to feature in the final game of his current loan spell from Norwich City.

Former Leeds United defender Tom Lees is unlikely to return from injury for this game and the same can be said of fellow centre-back Michael Turner and goalkeeper Keiren Westwood. Defender/midfielder Sam Hutchinson could return to the side.

Leeds are hoping for striker Chris Wood to return though the former Leicester man is rated as doubtful having missed the last 3 games. Influential youngster Sam Byram has been the subject of a move to Everton over the past couple of days but manager Steve Evans hopes to include Byram in his side if that move is not concluded.

Defender Sol Bamba and midfielders Stuart Dallas and Luke Murphy will be hoping for a recall to the side.

Wednesday could move into the top 6, which has been elusive for them every time they have got close so far this season, if they can pick up 3 points. The Owls have suffered just 1 home defeat to date this season and that was at the hands of league leaders Middlesbrough.

Leeds suffered a late 2-1 defeat at Ipswich in midweek but have been in good form recently with no defeats in their previous 8 games.

The 2 sides played out a 1-1 draw at Elland Road in August while Leeds managed a 2-1 win on their last visit to Hillsborough at the back end of last season.
