Leon eyes Canaries start

Clarke scored in The Owls' 2-1 defeat to Shrewsbury today and will hope he can regain his starting place in the club's last game of the season.

It's been an odd season for Clarke; leaving Wolves as their leading scorer, not looking the part at Hillsborough, being loaned out to Oldham before scoring on his return to the side at Cardiff - but he has had limited chances since.

Brian Laws is set to change the side around on Sunday with John Hills especially given one last shot of gaining a contract for next season while Frank Simek could miss out, moving Tommy Spurr to central defence and Lee Bullen to right-back.

The Wednesday manager though has thanked the club's fans following Wednesday's recent 11-match unbeaten run which ended on Saturday to Birmingham City.

He told the club's official site: "They have had a taste of good things and I think any supporter will say it has been a great season. That's maybe something they didn't think would happen at the start of the season.

"Now it has, we've given them a bit of belief and must build on that - that's my objective for next season."
