Wednesday beat Hull City with a spectacular Franny Jeffers goal and Laws was happy, especially after the Sword of Damocles was hanging precariously over his head depending on what newspaper you read on Saturday morning.
There were some idiots who were sat behind me booing and jeering the former England man through most of the first half - they soon shut up come the 40th minute when he banged in his first Owls goal.
Laws said after the game: "We needed bravery out there and we also needed a bit of calmness and I thought we had those main ingredients. The supporters today were magnificent and gave the players the challenge; could they respond? They did, they gave everything.
Meanwhile Michael Johnson, who was outstanding on his debut, said he would consider a move to S6 to secure regular football.
He said: "Reserve-team football is no good to me and I'd be happy to stay here. I'm not just coming up here for a month to then go back to Derby. Hopefully I'll do well and get offered an 18-month contract."
