Despite the Owls' manager being gutted about the defeat - he is still looking at the positive aspect and hopes that Wednesday can now push onto bigger and better things.
He said: "Of course I am disappointed we have not gone through but if I am going to lose to anyone I don't mind losing to Stuart.
"The difference between the Championship and the Premiership is you have to be clinical in front of goal - and it was that way tonight.
"It gives the lads a taste of what's to come if we ever get to the Premiership and this is the challenge, to try to achieve it.
"We'll certainly have a real go at reaching the play-offs. I said that just then to the lads - let's take that into our league performances."
