Sheffield Wednesday have confirmed that Chris Kirkland has signed a new deal to stay with the club. The former Liverpool stopper has been the Owls number one for the past two seasons but his contract expired this summer.
Kirkland was one of four out-of-contract players to be offered new deals to stay on at Hillsborough and he has now signed a one-year-deal.
The former England international has made over 80 appearances for Wednesday in the past two seasons but he now face stiff competition for his place in the form of new signing Keiren Westwood.
