Former Sheffield Wednesday goalkeeper Lewis Price has opted to sign for fellow Championship outfit Rotherham United.
The 31-year-old Welshman spent a season with the Owls and was out of contract this summer but had been offered new terms to stay at Hillsborough.
He has however chosen to move to the Millers and it appears that the fact that Rotherham have given him a 2-year deal combined with a more realistic possibility of first team football are behind the decision.
Price was understudy to Owls number one keeper Keiren Westwood at the start of last season and performed well in the vast majority of games that he featured but the emergence and development of young Owls keeper Joe Wildsmith meant that is was likely that Price would have been regarded as 3rd choice custodian for the Owls.
Media reports following Price's decision suggest that Owls coach Carlos Carvalhal does have a replacement lined up and the club are in negotiations to bring in a new keeper to bolster their ranks.
