The Owls had not won in seven attempts and went into the Hull game looking very shaky – but one of the best performances of the season confirms Paul Sturrock’s men in the play-offs to the delight of the Scottish winger.

He told Footymad:”I thought we would have made the play-offs; we go into every game thinking that. But in all honesty the boys are absolutely delighted.

"We were magnificent in the first half, they stepped up the gas in the second half and it was unlucky that the ball struck a hand for the penalty but we showed our spirit and we needed that bit of luck for the winning goal, something we have been missing recently.

“I don’t think confidence has ever been a problem with the boys, we have had a lot of injuries but we are not allowed to use that as excuses and players have had to be played out of position – we have had new players come to the club and it all came together against
Hull.

“I have never doubted the ability in the squad and the players here I wouldn’t swap them for any others in the league so our confidence is still very high.

“I think there will be a big support at the
Bristol City game but we can’t take the foot off the pedal as we want to win that one too.”
