JJ and Tudgay on win - exclusive

Tudgay opened the scoring with Steve MacLean notching the winner and the 2-1 win leaves The Owls two points off the play-offs with two games to go.

Coventry came with a physical approach and tried to unsettle Wednesday, although according to wing wizard Johnson, it did not affect them.

He told Footymad: "Yeah we are playing really well at the moment; hopefully it's good enough to take us to the play-offs.

"It isn't our game to get involved with the physical nature like Coventry did - we want to play football so it wasn't really a good game but we got a win and that was vitally important. It is really looking good and it's the first time I have really been chasing the play-offs so I am really excited about it.

"It will be a big game down at Birmingham next Saturday for sure but we have to just concentrate on our own game and things will come naturally."

Chris Brunt and Glenn Whelan both took massive hits and was lucky to walk away unhurt although Tudgay and Deon Burton had to be replaced after some reckless Sky Blues tackles.

Tudgay added: "The result was very pleasing and we were glad to get three points. It was a scrappy game, it was one of those games where we knew we had to pass the ball well but again we got the three points so we're happy."

On the injury which saw the former Derby star limp off after half-an-hour, he said: "Basically the boy came across and I tried to get in the way of him and he caught me. It's a dead leg at the end of the day just above the right knee but overall I think with a bit of treatment I should be alright early this week."

Tudgay has been impressive this season and had fitted into the right-midfield spot well - although does think his best position is spearheading the attack.

He added: "I get by playing on the right but as long as I am on the team sheet I don't mind where I am playing. Ideally I would like to be up front like I have said before but I managed to get a goal against Coventry and I am very happy about it. I have 11 goals so far this season, I always try to get as many as I can - we have two games left so it gives me the chance to add to my tally."
