Marcus Tudgay was Sheffield Wednesday's player of the season for 2008/09 and there aren't many that would argue with that judgement.
Criticised by some sections of the crowd last season for what was perceived to be a somewhat suspect work-rate this certainly wasn't the case this time around.
Tudgay put in a real shift in every game and in addition to this his attitude and all round play were a major reason as to why the club achieved a top-half finish.
He never shirked responsibility when asked to play out wide and who knows how many more than the 14 goals he might have got had he been afforded the chance to play up front on a more regular basis.
The pick of those 14 goals was the winner at Bramall Lane, a strike worthy of winning any game and one that ended a 94 year wait for a league double over the Blades.
Tudgay has been offered an improved contract and should be considered as a key component of the side as the Owls look to progress next season
Overall verdict: 8.5/10.
