Sheffield Wednesday have completed the signing of Chelsea utility player Sam Hutchinson. The former Chelsea man spent a successful loan spell at S6 last season and following his release by the Premier League giants he has now signed a 2-year deal with the Owls.
Hutchinson rose through the ranks at Stamford Bridge having joined the London club as a youngster and he was highly regarded by the club. Injuries prevented his progression into becoming a regular first team member but he captained their second side and represented England through to under 21 level.
The 24 year old made 11 appearances for Wednesday at the back end of last season with the crowd warming to his energetic, combative style though at times he may have been a little over-eager resulting in a couple of suspensions.
Hutchinson is adept at playing in midfield and also as a full-back and was stated to have attracted the attention of a number of Premier League clubs this summer.
