Hobson who lives in Jersey and works with Sheffield boxer Clinton Woods, is a lifelong Wednesdayite and wants to be able to fund the wages and transfer fee for a possible new face at Hillsborough.
He was initially part of a consortium which were wanting to get involved with The Owls last season but rumours state that they still do have a firm interest in the club and would jump at the chance of getting on board.
Hobson two years ago had an interview to get onto the board of directors but did not see eye to eye with the chairman - but with the AGM and EGM coming up in the next few weeks, the door could be open again especially if Dave Allen is ousted.
"This is not all about being on the board; I spend a lot of time in Jersey these days," he told the Sheffield Star.
"When I approached the club before, Dave Allen said I was incompatible with them. It's never been fully explained to me what that meant."
On bringing in new blood to improve the side he added: "It's just that Wednesday are in my blood, it's my religion. If I can help in any way, I will. I've spoken to the Owls Trust about it, and they think it's a great idea."
