Guylain's the man

The Congolese forward caused problems for the Dingle defence from start to finish, and his brace was well deserved.

Adam Proudlock though was the star of the show as his hard work in attack on his return to first-team action showed fans who doubted him earlier in the season that the former Wolves striker is a key player.

But now Numbu-Nsungu has overtaken Proudlock as the club’s leading scorer and Turner is happy with his overall contribution since signing permanently from Amiens.

He said: “He is twenty and new to the English game but has quality and movement. He does give the ball away occasionally but even the top players do that but he always will cause opposition problems.

“When he went behind the front two, he controlled the ball well in tight situations and wriggled out of them too, he is a good finisher. His first was headed down by Kim Olsen and he smashed it into the net, for the second, he robbed the defender and tucked it away nicely.”

The manager believes that it is not only the good form of Numbu-Nsungu that could help Wednesday make a late run for the play-offs, but a fully-fit squad to pick from could also work wonders.

“I am starting to build a team here and we are getting individual players who are starting to shine, and that goes along with the injured players coming back,” he told Radio Sheffield.
