Gray day for Wednesday?

The quick and tricky left-sided player was released by Blues boss Steve Bruce at the end of the season following their promotion to the Premiership and it is very unlikely he will get a chance to impress - especially with Gary McSheffery in front of him.

Gray's former boss at Crystal Palace, Iain Dowie, is looking at the player with Charlton, Hull and Leicester City also interested.

If Wednesday are successful in the pursuit of Gray, it could also mean an exit for Chris Brunt who is still yet to sign a new deal at Hillsborough although it is hoped that the Northern Ireland international will put pen to paper soon.

In other news, Sean McAllister has signed a one-year extention to his current deal and has set his sights on making a first-team place his own.

One other line, Wednesday have said that no tickets will be sold for away pre-season clashes at Halifax, Chesterfield, Port Vale and Oldham from the Hillsborough ticket office and advised supporters to pay on the gate at the respective grounds.
