It has been a gloomy day in South Yorkshire weather wise and for Sheffield Wednesday it has certainly been a Gray day as the ex-Wolves man has agreed a new contract at Hillsborough.
Michael Gray joined the Owls on an initial loan deal in January and was contracted to the club until the end of the season but his campaign was curtailed in March due to a shoulder injury.
In his short initial spell at the club Gray impressed supporters and team mates alike with his displays in a wide midfield role and he adds more experience and versatility to the side having previously made his name as an accomplished left-back.
The 34-year-old former Sunderland, Leeds and Wolves man has signed a one-year contract with Wednesday who have wasted no time in making their mark in the close season.
In the short time since the end of the 2008/09 campaign the club have secured the services of Gray, Darren Purse and Tommy Miller as well as agreeing new deals with key players Lee Grant and Marcus Tudgay.
