Sheffield Wednesday striker Gary Madine has been charged with improper conduct following his dismissal in the recent defeat at Carlisle.
The Owls top scorer was sent off for a second booking towards the end of the match against his former club and he appeared to gesture directly at the referee after the red card had been shown.
Madine missed last weekends win against Wycombe due to the initial suspension and he has now been handed a further one match ban which means he will sit out Saturday’s home clash with Brentford.
Although Madine has been in a rich vein of form this season Wednesday coped well in his absence at Wycombe as Ryan Lowe opened his Owls account in the 2-1 victory. Lowe, who has recently returned to action after injury, is likely to partner Chris O’Grady up front as the Owls look to extend their 100% league record at Hillsborough this season.
