Yorath became the sixth manager in five years to leave Hillsborough when he announced his resignation, only 12 hours after he had declared that he would battle on shortly after the home defeat to Millwall.
He said: "What got me thinking overnight is that a lady came up to me five minutes before the end of the game.
"She said to me 'Terry, you are a nice fellow but do the best thing for this club and quit'.
"Her words haunted me throughout the night and after talking about it with my family I decided the best thing for me to do would be the sensible thing and go."
