End of term report part 1

Last updated : 22 May 2004 By Andy Parsons

Owls fans were expectant of a quick return to division one but it was not to be, and after a good start, it all went downhill.

So here at Footymad, we decided to play teacher and not let any of our underachievers off lightly! First of all we will focus on the goalies and the usually hapless defenders.

GOALKEEPERS

Kevin Pressman
– Oldest member of the class but his best years are definitely behind him. Despite him being a teacher’s pet for a number of years, other younger pupils have come in and impressed. He will leave the school remembered as a hero after spending years in the same form. Mark B-.

David Lucas – The best student. Came in when times were hard but impressed despite knowing that he was set to move back to his old school following a freak playground accident. Mark A-.

Ola Tidman – This particular youth did not impress the thousands who followed Wednesday Elementary. His handling was so bad, he kept dropping his pencil. The worrying thing is, he did not pass his exams and will have to enrol again next season. Mark E.

DEFENDERS

Derek Geary – An enthusiastic pupil although has not improved from previous years in the system. Was always in detention and sometimes missed schoolwork because of behavioural problems. Mark B -.

Dean Smith – Erratic during the whole term. Despite an encouraging effort last year, he came in this year with added responsibility of being the major prefect but disappointed. Dean was always late for school as he was too slow to catch the bus. Mark F.

Graham Lee – Came in following a good recommendation from a former headmaster. Impressed usually in class and looks a safe bet to continue his good work next year. Mark A-.

Brian Barry-Murphy – A firm favourite with the headmaster despite his work getting sloppier and sloppier throughout the term. He quickly made friends with Dean who may have led him astray. Mark D.

Richard Wood – Young Richard has been steady this term despite not having many opportunities to show us his best work. He will hopefully get better in the future with more chances to impress the teacher. Mark C.

Leigh Bromby – Was impressive in parts despite not being one of the headmaster’s best pupils at the start of term, but not hard enough for this school. Mark B-.

Steve Haslam – During the nativity play, he was promoted from being the donkey to become one of the three wise men. Got better as the term went on but will leave this term and young Steve will always keep an eye on his old school. Mark B-.

Jon Beswetherick – Not up to the school’s standards and was hardly ever let out on school outings. Mark E.

Chris Carr – Way too early to make an opinion on the youngster after a shoddy first lesson at school, will improve to become good pupil. Mark C.
