As the Owls got off to a poor start, Hinds struggled to find his own form and was struggling to justify his place, be it in the centre of midfield of at centre-half.
He put in a particularly disappointing display against his former club in the 2-1 defeat at Hillsborough but managed to retain his place in the side and played his part in the Owls revival during November.
As Wood and Beevers established themselves as the first choice pairing at centre-back the versatile Hinds slotted in a right-back, filling in for the injured Simek and played his best football of the season in this position.
As the end of the campaign approached Hinds appeared to be growing in confidence and was producing consistent, solid displays before being ruled out of the final few games with injury. The problems the Owls faced in using JJ and Gilbert at full-back from this point on was testament to the job that Hinds had done.
Overall season verdict: 7 out of 10. Suffered early on as did most of the squad but made a positive contribution as the season progressed. If Wednesday are to have any aspirations of a top-half finish then Hinds is unlikely to be a regular starter but his versatility makes him a useful member of the squad.
