The Dutch striker is said to be on trail at Hillsborough although the club officially are keeping the player’s identity close to their chests.

The Owls today revealed that they were interested in a foreign forward who is currently on trial and it is believed that Reden is the man Paul Sturrock is chasing.

Reden has played for RKC Waalwik, Roda JC and RBC Roosendaal but has failed so far this season to make inroads to Willem’s first team.

The striker is 25-years-old and if he does well on trial, Sturrock will hope to sign the hitman in the January transfer window.

Meanwhile, England Under-21’s beat Poland 4-1 in front of a decent 23000+ crowd at Hillsborough last night thanks to goals from Chelsea’s Carlton Cole, Charlton’s Jerome Thomas and an unlikely brace from Newcastle’s impressive defender Steven Taylor.

West Ham’s Nigel Rio-Coker looked very good on the ball whilst Tottenham’s Aaron Lennon was a threat to the Polish defence all night.
