Chris Marsden missed the Stockport win on Saturday and turned out to be the mystery player that Paul Sturrock mentioned before the match who was not fit.
The Owls' skipper will now miss around three weeks of action with a hamstring injury and is on the sidelines for the first time this year - of course the former Southampton veteran was absent from first-team duties for two games at the start of the season due to family problems.
Lee Bullen, who has deputised for Marsden as skipper during that time will be missing the game after picking up his fifth booking of the season at Stockport, incurring a one-match ban and was fined for kicking the ball away.
Graeme Lee had taken the armband last season on occasions but with him not being fully fit yet, Wednesday fans will wait and see who will lead their team out at the County Ground at the weekend.
