On-loan star Turner made fine saves and kept his first clean sheet since his arrival from Everton while MacLean added to Glenn Whelan's 46th-minute marker to take The Owls' unbeaten run to nine games.
"A clean sheet is long overdue but I didn't have much to do to be fair," Turner told Footmad.
"We had a bad first half but to be honest, the second half was quality; we got a few chances and put them away."
MacLean meanwhile mused over the solid defensive display and was also pleased to grab his 12th goal of the season - and thinks back to the poor run of form in January which could have ruined Wednesday's season.
He said: "It doesn't get much better than a 2-0 win, a clean sheet and a goal for myself but it was a great result for us and it was most important for us that we got the three points so everyone's happy.
"Nothing really has changed much since our bad run in January; we perhaps have had a bit of luck. When you are playing well it's about how hard you work although luck comes into it
- we have now got through that bad spell and turned the corner because of our hard work and long may it continue."
