Duo on Donny battle - exclusive

The duo go into the game confident despite knowing that the club’s recent three-game winning run could quickly turn into a three-game losing streak.

Wins against Stockport, Hartlepool and Bristol City earned Paul Sturrock the manager of the month but then Wednesday have lost to both Hull City and Brentford.

And Peacock says that The Owls will have to adapt their style going into Sunday’s battle with Rovers to get back to winning ways.

He told Footymad: “We can’t be complacent going into the
Doncaster game. We have to get the bit between our teeth and go and win the game. If it means going to Belle View and playing non-attractive football then so be it as we have to start grinding out results.

“We have to bounce back from the Brentford game with a win – it’s as simple as that. We have to go in battling, be at them from the start and all the players should stand up and be counted from the start. We have to get in front and then just dig our feet in, that’s what this league’s about.”

Heckingbottom meanwhile says that with the game being away from Hillsborough, it is a great platform for the club to build on their good road record.

He told Footymay: “The Rovers game is probably the perfect game for us. It is away from home, a massive game, it is probably their game of the season so we will be desperate to win it and put things right as it stands. We have gone on a good run away from home recently and we have to keep it going.
