Sheffield Wednesday will feature live on Sky Sports on consecutive weekends following the latest announcement of live games.
The first Sheffield derby since 2012 will now take place at Hillsborough on Sunday 24th September with a 1.15pm kick-off. The following Sunday, Yorkshire rivals Leeds United will face the Owls at S6 with kick-off for that match at 12.15.
Wednesday beat the Blades the last time the two teams met in 2012 – the 1-0 victory giving Wednesday momentum to catch their city rivals and pip them to automatic promotion from League One. Leeds United did the double over the Owls last season, following up a 2-0 win at Hillsborough with a 1-0 win at Elland Road.
Wednesday’s home clash with Nottingham Forest had previously been selected for live TV coverage – the 5.30pm kick-off on Saturday 9th September will be the first of 3 live games from Hillsborough in the space of 3 weeks.
