Wednesday continue to address EFL issues
Sheffield Wednesday have once again come out fighting in their dispute with the EFL, issuing an update on matters via an official statement on Friday 27th December.
The statement confirmed that the club is continuing with an arbitration claim against the English Football League, claiming that they believe that the charges issued against the club are unlawful.
The release also noted that the club don't expect any disciplinary proceedings in this matter to be advanced until the arbitration is resolved and concluded by stating that the club is not under an embargo at this time.
A short response to this from the EFL stated that the Owls claim is without merit and the league will be seeking a quick resolution to this in order to continue the disciplinary proceedings.
The EFL have charged Wednesday and representatives of the club with misconduct relating to how and when the sale of their Hillsborough Stadium was accounted for within the financial records of the football club.
