Sheffield Wednesday have confirmed their first bit of completed business on transfer deadline day with the sale of right-back Marnick Vermijl to Preston North End.
The Belgian joined the Owls on a 3-and-a-half-year deal from Manchester United in January 2015 but has struggled to make an impression since Carlos Carvalhal took over as manager last summer with both Jack Hunt and Liam Palmer ahead of him in the pecking order for his preferred position.
Vermijl spent last season on loan with PNE and has now signed a 3-year deal at Deepdale for an undisclosed fee.
