The former Leeds goalkeeper, on loan from Liverpool, last week got the go ahead from the Anfield club to stay in Sheffield until the end of the current campaign, although he has not ruled out the option of coming to S6 for a season-long loan next year.
Carson has been behind Pepe Reina and Jerzy Dudek in The Reds' pecking order this season and the current European Champions still have Chris Kirkland on their books who is spending the season on loan at West Bromwich Albion.
But the 20-year-old is just glad that he can show people what he can do and so far his stay at Hillsborough has been a successful one.
"I'm delighted that I am staying here until the end of the season," Carson told Footymad, "all I want to do is play football. I like it here in Sheffield and hopefully I can help Wednesday stay in this division. At Liverpool I have been getting a bit frustrated but like I said, I just want to come here and play football and show everyone what I can do."
As far as his international career goes, it looks like he has nailed down the number one jersey of the England Under-21 team although he is modest enough to acknowledge he has some pretty stern competition.
He added: "In the England Under-21 set-up we have some good goalkeepers like Ross Turnbull who played well against us at the weekend and Lee Camp, both are great keepers so you can never say that you have cemented your place as number one until you are an older and more experienced player so it's up for Peter Taylor to decide if I am number one at the moment."
There has also been talk of him joining the senior squad in Germany this year but at the moment, he is counting that option out.
Carson said: "I think Robert Green has already been told that he is already going to Germany so that looks like it's out of my hands. But I just have to keep working hard and playing well, you just never know."
