Sheffield Wednesday Captain Richard Wood has today been linked with a move to Coca-Cola Championship rivals Coventry City for the second time this summer.
Owls manager Brain Laws admitted on the clubs' official website that Sky Blues boss Chris Coleman had enquired about the availability of Wood some time ago and was told politely that the player was not for sale.
Now, with the transfer window set to close until January on Monday, the midlands club are reported in local media to have renewed their interest in the Owls centre-back.
Wednesday have reiterated that they are not planning to sell any of their best young players and are not under any pressure to do so from a financial standpoint.
Wood, who is thought to be valued in excess of £1M, is the Owls longest serving player in the current squad and was handed the Captaincy of the club during the close season.
