Can the derby against Donny end Owls dire run?

Sheffield Wednesday play host to local rivals Doncaster Rovers on Saturday still in search of their first win of the season.

Dave Jones has managed to bolster his squad with the addition of Hull City striker Matt Fryatt on loan and he could be in line for his Owls debut.

Two other recent loan signings, defender Roger Johnson and midfielder Steven McPhail were debutants in the crushing defeat at Birmingham City last weekend and the pair are in contention to make their home debuts.

Assured right-back Lewis Buxton has been missed of late as he continues to struggle with his recovery from a niggling injury. On loan West Ham defender is likely to deputise once again if Buxton is not ready to make a return.

Attacking option Chris Maguire has picked up a toe injury and is expected to miss out while centre-back Anthony Gardner remains a long term absentee.

Doncaster are likely to field on-loan Manchester United forward Federico Macheda following his brace against Nottingham Forest last weekend. Fellow front man Harry Forrester will miss out though after picking up a muscle injury in a reserve game in midweek that is likely to keep him out for around a month.

Former Owls captain Rob Jones is expected to feature at the heart of the Doncaster defence in front of ex-Chelsea goalkeeper Ross Turnbull.

Doncaster off to a decent start on their return to the Championship, picking up 4 points from their first 3 games but they have only picked up 2 points from their last 4 matches since their match at Charlton was abandoned due to a waterlogged pitch when they were leading 3-1 at the time.

Rovers have one only once in 6 visits to Hillsborough though that victory did come on their last trip to S6 in February 2010. Doncaster completed a 2-0 victory over the relegation bound Owls on that date and they had already beaten Wednesday 1-0 at home earlier in the season.
