Sheffield Wednesday completed their 5th loan signing of the January transfer window on Sunday by adding Isaiah Osbourne to their ranks. The Aston Villa midfielder moves to Hillsborough on loan until the end of the current season.
The 23 year old has made 30 1st team appearances for his home town club having progressed through the youth ranks at Villa Park but he has not featured for the premier League side since 2008. Since then he has loan spells at Nottingham Forest in the 2008/09 season and Middlesbrough during the following campaign.
Osbourne has been a regular in the successful Aston Villa reserve team and is described as a combative midfielder who is at his best when playing in a defensive role in front of the back four. This is a position that has been a problem for the Owls this season and indeed for a number of seasons and he could be the ideal player to help the Owls defend better as a team and win the ball back quicker and more effectively.
