Sheffield Wednesday continued their good pre-season form with a fine 4-1 win on the club's first visit to Stadium MK.
The Owls didn't get off to the best of starts and found themselves within the first five minutes thanks to a goal from Florian Sturm.
Ettiene Esajas equalised for Wednesday with just 12 minutes on the clock, scoring with a fine strike from long range following a quickly taken free-kick.
This appeared to help the Owls settle into the game and Deon Burton added two goals in as many minutes to give them a comfortable lead at the break.
Burton, last seasons' top scorer has hit the ground running in pre-season, possibly benefitting from playing for Jamaica during the summer break.
A Wednesday following of close to 1,000 in the 3,500 crowd will also have been pleased to see Akpo Sodje return from injury and it was his good work that set up two simple tap-ins for his strike partner.
The second half was not quite as frenetic but substitute Jermaine Johnson, another who had shown good form in Holland, managed to get himself on the score sheet, finishing well after a typical mazy run.
Some first team players may feature at Stocksbridge tomorrow night and the Owls then move on to play at Gigg Lane, Bury on Saturday.
