Sturrock's options are limited to say the least at the moment and Wednesday's second top scorer Bullen may be the answer.
The Owls boss wants to at least try out his Scottish compatriot up front for the first time against Rochdale in the reserves tomorrow.
With Lee Peacock, Guylain Ndumbu-Nsungu, Andy Talbot and Adam Proudlock all out injured, Steve MacLean is the only fully-fit striker to pick from and even if Sturrock gets a loan forward in, Bullen most likely will be given a chance in attack.
Should Bullen lead the line on Saturday, it will not be the first time in his playing career he has spearheaded the attack - he has played as a striker for Australian outfit Wollongong Wolves, PAE Kalamata of Greece as well as in Hong Kong and China for Golden AA and South China AA respectively.
Sturrock should have Paul Heckingbottom back for the clash with Chris Turner's old club at Hillsborough this Saturday and the boss gave the biggest hint yet that changes will be made in defence following the Swindon debacle.
He said: "We've lost four goals so I'll be changing the back four again," in a bid to accommodate the left-back and push Bullen forward.
