The Northern Ireland winger saw former team-mate Kenwyne Jones score a goal through bad Wednesday defending in a game where neither side really impressed.
But all in all, the result leaves Paul Sturrock's men with only two points from a possible nine and an indication of what the season will have in store for them.
Brunt told Footymad: "To honest I don’t think they were much better than us on the day – I had a couple of chances which I should have hit the target with so I was disappointed with that one especially the early one. I thought some of the decisions the referee made were poor but we can’t let that get to us and push on for the rest of the season.
"So far we have been playing the way the gaffer’s wanted us to play because we have been getting the ball wide and putting crosses into the box but we are just lacking the finishing touch at the moment.
"We have had chances so far this season but no clear-cut opportunities stand out so we will work on that in training and hopefully things turn good."
