It seems a long time ago when The Owls beat Barnsley in December to record their last league victory but after a torrid time in January and so far in February, Wednesday head to Burnley needing a win.
But Laws thinks a win at Turf Moor, where The Owls have a strong recent record, could kick-start the club's season.
He told the Lancashire Telegraph: "We have had a dip at the wrong time, and so have Burnley.
"But there are two places in the play-offs up for grabs and if you're five or six points away at the end of February, you've got a great chance. There's always a late runner every year, somebody will do it."
The club have announced that the game should go ahead on Saturday despite today's snow storms although they have cancelled an academy training session tonight because of the weather.
