Sheffield Wednesday have confirmed today that the loan spell of striker Jay Bothroyd has come to an end and he has now returned to his parent club, Queens Park Rangers.
The 30-year-old featured 14 times for the Owls in the Championship in what can only be described as a largely unsuccessful loan spell. In those 14 games Bothroyd played many as a wide-right attacker. He scored one goal in the 1-1 home draw with Leeds United and picked up 2 yellow cards during his time at Hillsborough.
In the 14 games that he played for Wednesday 10 resulted in defeat with just 2 wins and 2 draws. Bothroyd was injured and unavailable for the final month of his loan period at S6, during which the Owls won 3, lost 3 and drew 1 of the 7 games in which he did not feature.
