Boss tracks Irish star

Former Coventry City and Cheltenham Town player O'Donovan has scored 16 goals in his last 17 games for Cork although he did not find the target in Monday's cup tie against St Patrick's Athletic - who won 1-0.

Wednesday are not the star's only suitors though - Hull City made a substantial bid for the Republic of Ireland Under-21 winger-cum-striker in January while it is believed that Wolves are also interested in the versatile 22-year-old.

Meanwhile, John Hills and Burton O'Brien are on the road to recovery after staring in The Owls' 2-1 reserve win over West Brom.

Left-back Hills played the full game after returning from a calf problem which has kept him out since November while O'Brien got through an hour after making his comeback following hernia surgery.
