Turner has hit out by saying some of the players who have been at Hillsborough the longest have caused the most problems.
"There are those who have been here a certain length of time," he told The Star. "At the end of the day, this club has come out of the Premiership, struggled in the First Division and struggled with a similar nucleus in the Second."
"Yet it's always the manager's fault, always the coach's fault. Why not criticise those who have been here for a certain length of time?"
Only three players survive since Wednesday’s Premiership days: Kevin Pressman, Steven Haslam and Alan Quinn and if that quote is to be taken the right way, the boss could be pointing the finger straight at the long-serving trio.
Leigh Bromby and Derek Geary have also been at Hillsborough and made their debuts the season after the demotion from the top flight, the rest have come and most likely will go tomorrow.
It has been clear for all to see that Turner does not get on with Pressman anymore while it may be deemed as unfair to drag Quinn and Haslam down to the rest of the squad’s level.
Contradictory though to blaming the club’s best servants, rumours stated that Quinn had been offered a new contract while Haslam was one of Wednesday’s better players when fit last season.
