Sheffield Wednesday face another big test at the weekend as the race for promotion to the Premier League takes shape.
A fair few Owls fans are beginning to press the panic button after defeat at Leeds on Saturday on the back of a midweek home loss to Brentford.
Wednesday had won their previous 4 games prior to the Brentford setback but not taking a point from the last 2 matches has opened the door for the chasing pack.
Owls fans would have been thankful to see both Fulham and Norwich held to draws this weekend with Reading well beaten at Brighton.
The top two, Brighton and Newcastle, go head to head on Tuesday with 6th placed Wednesday hosting 8th placed Norwich on Saturday. The Canaries could close the gap to the Owls to 3 points with a victory and Fulham, currently 5 points off the top 6 with a game in hand, face Preston, who may also have ambitions of a late play-off push.
Leeds & Reading, just above the Owls, are far from cemented in the top 6 yet. Leeds travel to out-of-form Birmingham on Friday and then face Fulham the following Tuesday. Reading host Wolves at the weekend before a tough home game against Newcastle on Tuesday.
Following the Norwich game the Owls host Burton. 6 points from those two game will see the Owls back on track, anything less than 4 points and the pressure will well and truly be on going into the final 10 games of the season.
