Wednesday looked the better of the two sides in a game watched by over 20,000 at Hillsborough and capitalised on Town’s defensive lapses to seal a 2-0 win.
The Owls are on fire at the moment and looking solid at both ends of the pitch – another clean sheet to boot along with Kenwyne Jones equalling a club record for scoring in successive games.
Sturrock said: “I’m very pleased. They’ve been difficult opposition to us but this shows we have developed as a team. We cut their chances down to a bare minimum.
“We’ve worked hard on defending as a team on the training ground. The last three or four games we have had a settled back four and they are learning every game.”
